Description and Responsibilities
Beyond Extinct is a sci-fi FPS/Roguelike game released on Steam in 2020. As a solo developer on this project, I gained significant experience in:
Core Development: Developing gameplay mechanics, AI logic, UI/UX development and more.
Core Systems: Developing procedural loot systems, in-level traps, dynamic spawn mechanics, and more.
Optimization: Learning real-time graphics optimization, profiling, and code efficiency through dynamic map structures.
Game Balance: Creating custom-built manager systems to handle complex roguelike elements, including:
Over 1000 combinations of passive and active skills.
20+ weapons with upgrade systems.
Scaling difficulty for creatures and endless randomly generated maps.
