Description and Responsibilities
Battle Tactics Simulation Room is a cross-platform tactical defense project (VR, 6DOF Motion, PC) developed between 2023-2025. Supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye), the simulation is actively deployed for military education across the MENA region.
VR Engineering & Scalable Gameplay: Personally developed gameplay mechanics for KAT VR locomotion and HTC Vive hardware. Architected and balanced cross-platform gameplay mechanics featuring 50 concurrent players against 100 AI enemies, ensuring synchronization and stability. Custom Tool Development: Developed internal tools to streamline production, including a Weather Manager Tool for real-time atmospheric changes, a Crowd Simulation Tool for behavioral testing, and Vertex Animation Tools (VAT) for optimization. Utilized Editor Utility Widgets and Blutilities to enhance team workflow.
UI/UX & Interaction: Developed tactical interfaces and menu systems. Developed immersive VR interaction logic to ensure seamless user experience across multiple platforms.
Production Pipeline & Workflow: Established the technical pipeline for asset integration. Defined standards for 3D model importing, naming conventions, and folder structures. Implemented Atlas Mapping and Material Instance workflows for optimization. Managed animation retargeting, skeleton setup, physic setup and collision presets for meshes.
Technical Direction & AI: Led the implementation of advanced AI logic utilizing EQS (Environment Query System) and custom AI manager systems to create responsive and optimized enemy behaviors.
World Building & Visuals: Generated landscape height maps by scanning real-world locations via Google Earth. Constructed massive environments by leveraging World Partition, Nanite, and Quixel Megascans. Personally handled level design, lighting, post-processing, and cinematic scene creation for marketing materials.
Leadership & Instruction: Managed the multidisciplinary team throughout the project. During this phase, I earned the Epic Games Authorized Unreal Instructor badge, enabling Crania to become an Authorized Training Center. Leveraged this expertise to provide academic training at Bahçeşehir University and Biruni University.
